CONSTRUCTION PRELIMINARIES 1921-1923

When it was necessary to reduce drastically Magonigle's inspiring but prohibitively costly plans to stay within available funds, Liberty Memorial Association Governors were disillusioned. Then, it spite of the architect's eloquence, his nomination of his wife as sculptor of the North Wall frieze did not receive the Board's approval.
